Malheur Rimrock
Feb 3rd, 2008 by the Artist
Here’s a landscape I quite like, both because it succeeds as a painting and because the image brings back good memories.
Just off the road that leads from Highway 205 to Krumbo Reservoir in Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, you can look off to the north and see this magnificent finger of rimrock behind a marsh pond. I sketched and photographed this scene during a visit to the refuge in fall 2007 and painted it in my studio in January.
Acrylic on canvas, 18 by 24 inches. #2008.82. $75 at Etsy
